- DEMOGRAPHICS. Reports with current neighborhood data are now available to all churches 24/7 at no charge. NIC churches can create their own user-friendly customized demographic studies by going to www.missioninsite.com and clicking on “Client Log-in.” Contact Ed Fenstermacher at ed@nicumc.org (or 800 783-5138) for the regional agency account number to set up your username and password. - COMMUNITY STUDIES. Free guides for conducting interviews with community leaders and windshield tours. Visit www.nicumc.org/cd/tools/community/guides.php for copies.
- GRANTS. A limited number of grants are being offered for launching new worship services, ethnic-minority faith communities, and off-site congregations. Visit www.nicumc.org/grants/cdgrants.php for a list of available grants.
- CONSULTATIONS/COACHING. On-site consultations and coaching can be arranged for churches needing specialized help. There may be a fee for such a consultation. Contact Ed Fenstermacher for details.
- BOOK STUDIES. Studying as a group one of the following books could be a helpful next step for churches unsure as to where to begin their Sending of the Saints effort:

- Partners in the Mighty Works of God, Jo & Russ Harris, Discipleship Resources, 1999. Designed for Anglo UM churches that want to explore ministry with Hispanics/Latinos.

- Prayer ministry or ALPHA – Paula Shrock, NIC prayer coordinator and ALPHA consultant
- Extravagant hospitality – Rev. Matthew Stultz, trained by UM’s Igniting Ministries
- Sharing your faith story (evangelism) – Rev. Kim Reisman, NIC’s conference evangelist
- Ministry with children – Rev. Heather Olson-Bunnell, originator of kid’s club ministry model
- Developing small groups – Rev. Mark Need, helped develop an effective ministry in a church
- New worship services or new congregations – Ed Fenstermacher, NIC’s church developer
- Demographics – Ed Fenstermacher; training on the demographic resource mentioned above.
- SENDING OF THE SAINTS TRAINING DAY, Sept. 21, 2:30–5pm EDT, Wabash First UMC. How to build a bridge to those you reach through such ministries as VBS, pre-schools, recreation, food pantries, small groups, and ALPHA. Insight from churches that have actually done it!
- HISPANIC/LATINO MINISTRY MODULE 1 TRAINING, Sept. 28, Oct. 10-12, Epworth Forest. Designed for UM lay & clergy who are interested in developing ministries with Hispanic/Latinos.

- MULTI-SITE EXPOSED CONFERENCE, Sept. 15-16, Chicago. Features three pioneers including Dave Ferguson of the New Thing Network and Rev.
